Northwest Hills

Established Austin living, close to downtown with hill country views.

Yet another popular and well-established Austin neighborhood, Northwest Hills is as close as you can get to downtown in Northwest Austin. This community is located in Travis County in the 78731 and 78759 zip codes, just north of RM 2222 (also known as Allandale Road or Northland Drive) with a rough northern boundary of Spicewood Springs Road. Mesa Drive is the primary road connecting north and south.

The Barrow brothers purchased the land and began development in 1958, finally completing work in the mid 1980s. While buyers can find a variety of sizes and home styles, most homes for sale in Northwest Hills are single-story, ranch style homes, but plenty of traditional, contemporary, and two story homes can be found. A lot of recent construction features modern and mid-century modern architecture, with popular exterior finishes including stone, brick, stucco, and wood.

Homes average over 2,700 square feet and 3-6 bedrooms. Many have undergone exterior and interior renovations, featuring open living space and updated flooring and kitchens. Just 7 miles from Downtown Austin, Northwest Hills is perched on the precipice of the Texas Hill Country, and nearly every home is treated to incredible sunset, lake, and city views.
