Make Your Mark on Texas
Competitive resources, a structure that lets you keep more of what you earn, and an atmosphere you will actually want to work in.
Most real estate teams of this size run some version of a lead-handoff model. Someone prospects, someone else shows homes, someone else writes the listing, and the client is passed between them. It is efficient for the team. It is rarely better for the client, and for the agent it means never really owning a relationship or a business.
SR Group works the other way. Each of our agents carries their own clients from the first consultation through closing. There is no buyer specialist to hand off to and no listing specialist waiting downstream. You build your business, you keep your relationships, and the team exists to support that rather than to route around it.
That is the whole proposition, and it is worth being honest that it will not suit everyone. If what you want is a pipeline fed to you, we are the wrong team. If what you want is infrastructure without losing control of your business, keep reading.
The Infrastructure Behind You
The Compass platform
SR Group agents are sponsored through Compass RE Texas, LLC. That brings the Compass technology stack, CRM, and agent tooling, along with programmes like Compass Concierge and Private Exclusives that are genuinely difficult to replicate independently.
Marketing that is already built
Listing collateral, photography and video direction, digital campaigns, and a brand system that does not need reinventing per listing. You spend your time on clients rather than on building a presentation deck from scratch.
Private network access
Affiliations including the Austin Luxury Network and Clubhouse, plus Compass Private Exclusives. Off-market and coming-soon inventory is one of the most concrete advantages you can hand a buyer, and it is hard to access as a solo agent.
A team that knows the whole region
Our agents live across the markets they sell, from central Austin and Northwest Austin to Lakeway, Westlake, Round Rock, Georgetown, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and Fredericksburg. When a client asks about somewhere you do not know, someone here does.
Depth in the specialist categories
Waterfront, Central Austin, ranch and land, relocation, and development marketing. If a client brings you a lake house or an acreage tract and the due diligence is unfamiliar, you are not working it out alone.
A principal still in production
Jeffrey Grant leads the team and still sells. Advice about a live negotiation comes from someone who was in one last week, not from someone who stopped practising a decade ago.
What You Would Be Joining
SR Group was founded in 2013 as Saddle Realty, grew from 2 agents to 25, and joined Compass through its 2019 acquisition. Jeffrey Grant was named a Platinum Top 500 REALTOR® in 2026, holds the CLHMS designation, and serves on the Board of Regents of LuxuryRealEstate.com.
The team is 13 agents today, and grows deliberately rather than quickly.
What You Actually Get
Support
The atmosphere here is closer to an incubator than a brokerage floor. Collaboration is the default, shadowing an experienced agent through a live transaction is normal rather than a favour, and leadership are player-coaches: they are still in production themselves, and if you want one of them involved in a deal with you, ask and they will get involved. Not review it. Get involved.
Marketing
Graphic design support for listings and personal brand, social media guidance that is specific to your market rather than generic advice, and a video content strategy with help actually executing it. Plus accountability partners, because the hardest part of marketing yourself is not knowing what to do, it is doing it in the weeks when nothing is closing.
Money Matters
One of the most generous commission split structures in the industry, and no excessive fees quietly reducing what that split is worth. The interests are aligned by design: the team does better when you do better, not when you transact more. There are recruitment incentives if you bring good people with you.
Onboarding
Business cards and signage handled, social media advisory from day one, and a personalised profile on this website that is yours rather than a directory row. The point is that you are able to work in week one instead of spending it ordering things.
Culture
The people, and the pong. It is a warm, energetic office built for entrepreneurial agents who want freedom with support behind it, and there is a table in it that gets more use than any office equipment reasonably should. You are going to spend a lot of your working life with these people. That should be a consideration rather than an afterthought.
Who Thrives Here
We hire for temperament more than for production history. The people who do well here have a few things in common.
You want to own the relationship
The first call and the closing table are both yours. If handing a client off after the tour sounds appealing, this will feel like extra work rather than autonomy.
You are willing to tell a client no
Advising sometimes means saying the house is wrong, the price is wrong, or the timing is wrong. That is the standard here, and it is the single clearest predictor of who fits.
You know a market properly
Depth beats breadth. Whether it is a submarket, a property type, or a client type, we would rather add someone who genuinely knows one thing than someone who claims all of them.
You hold an active Texas license
Or you are far enough through the process to have a clear date. Agents here are sponsored through Compass RE Texas, LLC, Texas broker license 9006927.
Who Does Not Thrive Here
Every recruiting page tells you who fits. Almost none tell you who does not, which makes the first list worth very little. Here is the honest version, and none of it is a criticism of anyone it describes.
You want leads handed to you
SR Group does not run a lead conveyor. There is no pipeline to be assigned, and there is not going to be one. Plenty of excellent agents do their best work inside a fed-lead model, and if that is you, a team built the other way will feel like being handed a bill rather than a business.
You want a manager to make the call
Autonomy cuts both ways. Nobody here is going to tell you how to price a listing or which clients to take. Support is available whenever you ask for it, but you have to ask, and the decision stays yours. If you would rather operate inside a clear structure with someone above you accountable for the outcome, that is a legitimate preference and this is the wrong fit.
You need volume above all else
The standard here is telling a client not to buy when they should not buy. That costs deals, deliberately and repeatedly. If your business model depends on maximising transaction count, the culture will grind against you every week.
You are looking for a job rather than a business
This is a commission business with real income variance, particularly in the first year. We will be straight with you about the ramp during the first conversation. If you need predictable monthly income right now, the honest advice is to sort that out before making a move, not after.
How Joining Actually Works
It is a real process rather than an interview and a handshake, because both sides are making a decision that is expensive to reverse. Expect it to take a few weeks.
A confidential conversation
Usually with Jeffrey, usually an hour, and entirely off the record. Where you are in your career, what your business looks like now, and what you want it to look like. No obligation and nothing shared with anyone.
The honest version of the model
We walk you through how the team actually operates day to day: what is provided, what you are responsible for, how splits and costs work, and what the first six months realistically look like. This is where most people either lean in or work out it is not for them, and both are fine outcomes.
Meet the team
You spend time with agents who are not the person recruiting you. Ask them the awkward questions. If the model only sounds good from the principal, you should know that before you move.
Business planning
Before anything is signed we map your first year: your market, your client sources, where the team adds leverage, and what a realistic ramp looks like given where you are starting. If the numbers do not work, better to find out here.
Onboarding and license transfer
Sponsorship moves to Compass RE Texas, LLC, and we get you onto the Compass platform, the CRM, and the marketing systems. We also handle the awkward part properly: transitioning pending business and in-flight clients without dropping anyone.
Ramp
You are working your own clients from day one, with the team available rather than assigned. We check in deliberately through the first quarter, because the difference between a good move and a bad one usually shows up in month three.
Have a Look at Who You Would Be Working With
Thirteen agents, spread across the region they serve. Every one of them runs their own business.
Meet the Team“My husband and I worked with Happiness to find our first home. She and the rest of the SR Group team are extremely knowledgeable and they were patient with all of our questions. Happiness went out of her way to make us feel comfortable throughout the entire process.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the commission split at SR Group?
SR Group offers one of the more generous split structures in the Austin market, without the excessive fees that quietly reduce what an agent actually keeps. The specific split depends on production and structure, and it is discussed directly rather than published, because a number without the fee structure attached to it is not comparable to anything.
Do I have to give up my own branding to join SR Group?
No. SR Group is built around agent autonomy, and agents keep their own client relationships and their own identity in the market. Onboarding includes a personalised website profile, business cards, and signage, and the team provides design and social support rather than requiring you to disappear into a house brand.
What support do new agents get?
Graphic design support, social media guidance, video content strategy, transaction support, and accountability partners, plus the Compass platform and technology. Leadership operates as player-coaches: if you want someone in a transaction with you, they will get involved rather than refer you to a manual.
Is SR Group a team or a brokerage?
SR Group is a team of agents affiliated with Compass, not an independent brokerage. Compass RE Texas, LLC is the licensed broker, Texas broker license 9006927. Agents are sponsored through Compass and get the Compass platform, with SR Group providing the team structure, mentorship, and marketing support on top.
What markets does SR Group cover?
SR Group covers Austin and Central Texas, including the Hill Country, the Highland Lakes, and the surrounding communities, with ranch and land transactions across the whole of Texas. The team also handles referrals in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco. Agents on the roster carry more than 118 years of combined experience.
How do I start a confidential conversation about joining?
Call Jeffrey Grant directly at 512.484.9146, email jeffrey@srgcompass.com, or use the careers form on this page. Conversations are confidential and there is no pressure to move: plenty of them end with someone deciding to stay where they are, and that is a fine outcome.
Do I need to be licensed already?
You need an active Texas real estate license, or to be far enough through the licensing process to have a firm date. If you are still deciding whether to pursue a license at all, SR Group is happy to talk through what the business actually looks like day to day before you spend the money on the coursework.
Start a Confidential Conversation
No pressure and no follow-up sequence. Tell us where you are in your career and what you want your business to look like. Plenty of these conversations end with someone deciding to stay where they are, and that is a fine outcome.
