Shady Hollow is one of the most established communities in Southwest Austin. Located in the 78739 and 78748 zip codes of Travis County, the six sections that make up the neighborhood are Shady Hollow, Shady Hollow West, Shady Hollow Estates, Southland Oaks, Barker Ranch at Shady Hollow, and Shady Hollow Gardens.
Depending on which section you live in, homes for sale in Shady Hollow range from 1,500 to 4,000+ square feet, and many feature open floor plans, fireplaces, and high ceilings. The original areas were constructed in the 1970s, while newer ones were built between the 1990s and mid-2000s.
Lot sizes are mostly between 0.3 and 0.5 acres, and home exteriors are mostly stone or brick in traditional or ranch style, with pools, expansive decks, and covered patios common.
Shady Hollow was developed on either side of Brodie Lane, approximately 1 mile south of its intersection with Slaughter Lane. The neighborhood is just under 13 miles from Downtown Austin and about 16 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
